Amazon Certified Solutions Architect Exam

I recently successfully passed the Amazon Certified Solutions Architect exam and I thought I would share some of the resources I used for preparation.

The first step you’ll have to take is setting up an Amazon AWS account if you don’t already have one. The free tier is available and will assist in getting the hang of the services available and how to use them.

Once you have an AWS account start navigating through the site. As you work through labs or developing your infrastructure take some time to develop a comfort level with the different dashboards and the actions available.

I began listening to and following along with the CBT Nuggets Foundations course and the CBT Nuggets Architecture course. The foundations course is good if you have no experience with AWS or public cloud in general. The architecture course is a deeper dive with a more technical focus.

I also decided to use the Udemy AWS course. There were some more detailed labs and practice questions included with this course, not to mention I found a 50% off code for Udemy so at $29 it was a no brainer for the questions alone.

All in all those two courses help emphasize the areas to be tested and the concepts. Additionally I used the Amazon AWS whitepapers, this dated AWS Enterprise Training collection of files, and a hand full of other sites below that provide some general practice questions.
